Below is a
list which puts prices to the more common elements
of web site design.
Note we refer to a 'web
site' and it's more advanced and powerful cousin,
a 'web system'. A web system is a much
more strategic investment and development undertaking
where online services become an integral part
of your customer and supply chain.
These are not set prices and as most clients
will order several different services, we aim
to be flexible and put together web package deals.
Please use these website design prices as a rough
guide only.
The main variable units of
development are web pages and database tables;
• A dynamic web
page uses detailed programming to perform
some special task based on a user action, such
as display or collect data in a form and store
to the database, automatically send emails, etc.
The page is flexible and adapts as the database
content changes.
• A static web
page is developed once and has ‘fixed’
content that can only change via a maintenance
request to the developers.
• A database table
or view that stores, combines and sorts data captured
via dynamic pages.
The fixed one-off activities
are;
• Setting up the
web site presence – domains, server
including video streaming, database, email accounts
• Discussing, designing
and creating the ‘look and feel’ and
overall structure of the web site. The
design must be clear and easy to understand and
use.
• Designing the
graphical elements such as logos, panels
and maps for properties
• Agreeing and
integrating the top key search engine phrases
that the site will be optimised for. The client
must supply several pages of original text describing
the business, benefits, unique selling points
etc.
