Sudoku is a popular
puzzle consisting of a grid of 9 by 9 numbers.
Each grid number is in the range 1-9 which can
only occur once in any row/column combination
and the 3x3 square in which it resides.
This free online Sudoku helper tool allows you
to try and see the effect of different combinations
of numbers.

The numbers in circles show how many different
numbers could go into a grid square, e.g.
might mean the 4 numbers 2,5,6,9. Look at the
dropdown menu to see the actual values. When
the number of combinations drops to 3 or less
the actual numbers are displayed.
If only one option to fill a grid square is
left the cell goes green.
Otherwise the possible numbers are displayed
in a list and you can choose from the dropdown
menu and try it. Use
the forward and back buttons in your web browser
to try different variations.
