Course Description |
Learn how to capture and
deliver content stored in a database
dynamically via a web page and
understand the benefits of this
powerful technique.
Websites
developed with static content
have limitations. You log in
day after day and unless the
web designer has physically
altered the web page, the content
will remain the same. What if
you want content to reflect
the latest real-time situation?
Take a look at popular websites
like the BBC with updated news
items and Amazon showing availability
and latest reviews on products.
These sites are successful based
on dynamic content - information
that changes quickly with time.
A large portion of this content
can be updated automatically
without intervention from a
web designer.
Most organisations
hold large amounts of information
hidden in databases or spreadsheets
and could benefit from information
being made available through
an intranet or the internet.
With just a basic grasp of how
databases are created and operate
in conjunction with a web site,
you will be able to take advantage
of tools that allow you to extract
information and present it to
the web site user in simple
tabular and record detail formats.
